Mohamad Yaghotpour: Increasing the spectator is our primary goal in 2018

Mohammad Yaghotpour, director of the performing Arts Center in Khuzestan province, said: "The holding of the first Ahvaz national theater festival, the increase in the centers of theater societies, is the goal  in 2018.

 

According to Iran Theater, Khuzestan Province, as one of the active provinces in the theater by hosting several major national and regional festivals throughout the year, as well as producing successful productions in recent years, has attracted a large part of the country's theater community in addition to numerous festival achievements. This province is called the most active province of the country in the field of theater after Khorasan Razavi.

 

 Mohammad Yaghotpour, director of the performing Arts Center in Khuzestan province, said: “This year was the election of the performing Arts Center in Khuzestan. More than 90% of eligible voters took part in the election, and this is a sign of the dynamics of theater in the province”

 

He added: " We increased the number of branch offices in Khouzestan province from 17 cities to 25 cities, and this year, we established 3 more branch   in other cities,., including Haftaphe and Hendijan. Also this year at our meetings we were planning to hold a local theater festival, and due to the climate of Khuzestan province and the warmth of the air, the time of the festival was transferred to November. So after the Muharram and Safar months the local theater festival will be held.”

 

In the end, Mohamad Yaghotpour said last year more than 1,600 shows were performed in Khuzestan province.

“This year we are looking to increase the number of spectators by the end of the year”.
