We are trying to upgrade the puppet theater

Iran Theater- Marzieh Boroumand , Director of Tehran-Mobarak 17th International Puppet  Festival said: "All our efforts have been to make a contribution to the promotion of puppet theater in the past three edition.”

The  Poster of the 17th Tehran-Mubarak International Puppet Theater Festival was  unveiled at the  Mana Art and Culture house   yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by Shahram Karami, Director General of the Performing Arts Center, Mehdi Shafiei, Former Director General of the Performing Arts center, Armand Bagherdar, former Director General of the Iranian Dramatic Arts Association, and Marzieh Boroumand and other artists.

"I am very happy to see this gathering of artists and theater actors together, and I believe that the theater, and especially the puppet theater, in a difficult situation in terms of the economic situation - can  make sparkle of hope and make us more promising.” Marzieh Boroumand said before the presentation of the festival poster .

She continued:” All our efforts have been to make a contribution to the development of the puppet theater during the latest three edition, as well as in all previous edition of the festival It is a great pleasure to hear that this year's festival was very satisfying, and this result comes back to the efforts of our colleagues who held this festival hardly before me. As I said, the works of Tehran-Mobarak 17th International Puppet Festival are of high quality and, as Iraj Tahmasb, a member of the selection committee, said that some of the works of this festival are glorious. Here it is necessary to emphasize that the works of the artists of the cities were also excellent . if the work of  These artists have not succeeded in attending the festival, it’s not because of the weakness of these plays but because of the high quality of other works and the intense competition .”

At the end of her speech, Boroumand referred to the activities of the International section of Festival: This year we will host good  theater group in the festival. It should be noted here that the embassies had a very good cooperation with us. Behrooz Gharibpour will perform the Khayyam in this year's festival. In the end, I also need to thank the Selection Board for having judged the works with special precision and finesse.”

 

 

Tehran-Mobarak 17th International Puppet Festival will  take place  on August 23rd to 29th, 2018.
