Shahram Karami: Performing Arts lost a bright gem which his name is tied to Modern Theater

Iran Theater- Ezzatollah Entezami, one of the most prominent actors of the Iranian cinema and theater, has passed away at the age of 94.

Several Iranian officials and artists have sent messages of condolences on the legendary actor’s death.
Culture Minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Health Minister Seyyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi were among the top officials who offered condolences to the nation in separate messages.
Sharam Karami, General Director of performing Arts Center, has sent a message of condolence,too.
In his message, Salehi expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and Entezami's bereaved family on his demise, calling it a great tragedy for the contemporary art of Iran.
Also, Zarif called Entezami's death a source of great sorrow, and described him as a popular and knowledgeable artist who had dedicated his life to the profession of acting.
In a part of his message Karami wrote: I begin with condolences and write about the lack of a man who the dramatic art of Iran is owed to him.
He devotes his adolescence to be an announcer in Theater, at the beginning of the Modern theater in Iran, he moves from Lalahzar Theater hall to Sa'di Theater hall. The time of the advent of Tele theaters in I.R.I.B , he is the only companion of it. Or even when he turns away from the magnificence of the stages, and on the other hand, he becomes the pride of Iranian cinema. His devotion to the theater and his love to the stages never even diminish in him. Performing Arts lost its bright gem which his name is tied to Modern Theater. Who can deny that the path to success, reached its peak, and remained at its peak for seven decades, was unique, and never waned.

Renowned Iranian stage and screen actor, Ezzatollah Entezami, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 94. The actor's son Majid Entezami confirmed the death of his father on Friday. The great actor succumbed to prolonged illness.
