Theater is one of the cultural domination practices

Iran Theater-Mohammad Sadegh Malek’s had more than two decades experience in theater. He has started his career as a theater actor since 1993, and has worked in numerous shows with numerous directors, experianced and new ones, from Professor Bahram Beyzaie , Abbas Ghaffari , Ali Abedi to Samaneh Zinedinejad , Hadi Hejazifar and Jaber Ramezani.

Mohmmad Sadegh Malek recently is on stage .he has acted in Where were you when ofelia killed herself? Which is based on a short story by Alice Monreo.He is one of the choosy actors who seldom accept the offers.

He says about the factors in a play that attracts him:” Most of all, the text is important to me. The idea is important. Some ideas have potential to improve. Sometimes it is also possible to create attractive spaces for the idea. So we try to experience it, but it’s about five years that the economic factor has become very important, I mean, until 2013, twenty years have passed since my work has been free!”

He says about “Where were you when ofelia killed herself?"  that When he read the text, he find a good text and it really has potential for performance.

He says at the end of his talk:” I would like to say in our current social situation, many are asking why do you  work in  show business, why do you use this style of show? Why do not you run the joyous comedy show? The fact is that we do not see theater as a pain killer.

We do not work  shows in the form of something  with social message. We work in theater, because this is one of the  cultural domination practices."
