Call for the First Edition of Akbar Radi Theater Festival was released

Iran Theater- Akbar Radi Cultural and Artistic Institute (Akbar Radi Foundation), in cooperation with the Department of the Performing Arts Center, will host the first Akbar Radi Theater Festival in January 2019.

Iran Theater- Akbar Radi Cultural and Artistic Institute (Akbar Radi Foundation), in cooperation with the Department of the Performing Arts Center, will host the first Akbar Radi  Theater Festival in January 2019.

The festival is aimed at: "Strengthening the basis of Iranian playwriting", "Profiling in the works of Master Akbar Radi" and "Rewarding or better recognizing the new talents of theater, playwriting, drama, theatrical research papers about Akbar Radi, cartoons, photography and Graphic Design". The festival is organized in six sections: Monologue Competition, Playwriting Competition, Reading play Competition , Seminar and Articles about Akbar Radi Competition, "In addition, the caricature Competition titled" The Great Smile of Mr. Radi "and" Exhibition of Visual Documents by Professor Akbar Radi " will be held.

 

The closing ceremony of the first Akbar Radi theater festival will be held on January 18th , with the participation of theater artists, and mass media representatives.

Akbar Radi Abar Radi (‎ 31 October 1939 – 26 December 2007 ) was an Iranian playwright. He was born on October 2, 1939 in the city of Rasht,completed his studies at the University of Tehran in social sciences. He published his first story, Rain, in 1959.

The 68-year-old playwright whose works have been compared with those of Anton Chekhov and Henrik Ibsen died in a Tehran hospital on December 24, 2007.

Melody of a Rainy City, The Descent, The Fishermen, Death in Autumn, The Glorious Smile of Mr. Gil and Beneath the Saqqakhaneh Passage are among his well-known works.
