Majid Omaraie: The way of Ghajar khan government will run at Sangelaj Theater Complex

Iran Theater- Majid Omaraie , stage director and lecturer, said to Iran Theater that He is busy on the pre _production of The Way Of Ghajar Khan Government which will be a mix of modern and  Iranian traditional style.

" The Way Of Ghajar Khan Government " is written and directed by Dr. Majid omaraei  whch is adapted from a play entitled "The Way of the Zaman Khan Government " written by Mirza Agha Tabrizi, and was written at

the period of the Qajar dynasties of Naser-al-Din Shah and Muzaffar al-Din Shah. It is considered one of the first Iranian plays in History. Majid omaraei   is now preparing a show based on the play that will be on stage in February at the Sangelaj Theater Complex.

He said about the motive for choosing such a play:” In fact, The show   which is inspired by Mirza Agha Tabrizi’s play will be a new edition  and is called " The way of Ghajar khan government " and is scheduled to be published by Tahoura Publications at the same time. Some of characters’s names are similar to the original text, but the play The way of Ghajar khan government  has changed in a way that reflects the conditions and requirements of our society today.”

He said about his interests in the performance style:” My interest in directing shows in the field of traditional plays dates back many years, and in fact, with the directing Siah-bazi show, I started my work in the theater.  Those show were based on the audio siah_ bazi perfromances on the cassette tapes.”

The director went on to say  that  the way of performance is a combination of traditional Iranian performance and modern.
