Afsaneh Zamani wrote the play based on a folkloric tale “Narenj & Toranj”, she said about it:” For two years, Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults offered me a job, and since I had been away from children theater for a while, I should be looking for the good play more carefully and obsessively. It's always been harder for me to do a work for children . This time I would like to have a story in the atmosphere of Persian tales.”
About the style of directing, She explained:” our narration is based on Naqqali. We use the narrator. But in many other Iranian ways of performance, objects have a special identity. For instance, in Ta’zieh the audience imagination is used. But at the same time, the object is applied in the scene and embodies that scene.”
