. Alireza Naaghi’s “confess:An Inergman’s Reading” is his first experience.
He says about the similarity of the show with Bergman's book:” Part of the play is based on the story, but most of it is not basically in the story. We have two main characters in display: Ana and Uncle jackob, who is Anna's clerical consultant, listens to her confession and talks about Henrik, Anna’s Husband and Thomas, who is her lover. About the difference between the book and the play, I can add that in the story, the admission of Anna does not lead to the confession of his uncle or his mutilation, and in fact, the character of the uncle or the punishment is dealt with in the play. It is also in the show that Anna decides to go from her chessboard.”
He says about the theme of the play:” The skepticism in this play is the main theme, she's not hesitant to go, but she's skeptical of the environment in which she has grown up and of the beliefs she believes she has been transferred to without being aware of. In the show, we talk about the structure of a congressman and the structure of a Protestant church. Obviously, when we are skeptical of the structure, we are talking about the beliefs and feelings that are created through religion throughout the life of a human being and the lifestyle that exists there. We must also take into account that the woman in that structure has a passive place, and what Anna does in that context is also a gender upheaval.”.
