Increasing the theater audience by expanding the infrastructure

Iran Theater-Shahram Karami, director general of the performing arts Center, said: "In order to increase the audience of shows, we need to boost the overall space of art, and this is also important with the expansion of the infrastructure.”

Shahram karami continued:” One of the most important tasks of the government this year is to reduce the responsibility of the public sector and support the private sector. We have continued to pursue this policy since last year, and this year we are working on this, so I will welcome the establishment of each private hall and its activities.”

According to Fars News Agency, Shahram karami emphasized on the activites of independent companies in Theater .

"We continue to encourage this policy, and we believe that private sections should be supported, even in many areas independent shows have been the pioneering and some more steps ahead of governmental shows  .  For example in the launch of some events and the theater festivals that are supported  by private companies .I think this is a good thing.”

He revealed :” According to the latest statistics from the Iranian Statistical Center, 5.5% of Iran's audience is theater audience, we have something close to 5 million theater audience, which has grown by 2% compared to 2016,2017 But we are still far from the proper conditions and the good relationship between the audience and the theater.”
