He believed that the culture of discourse in our society has diminished and that there is more monologue. Unfortunately, this is also evident among our intellectuals, while it is with the discourse that many problems and misunderstandings are eliminated.

The show “A Lady Singer” is based on Wajdi Mouwad's play.

Wajdi Mouawad, OC, (born 1968) is a Lebanese-Canadian writer, actor, and director. He is known in Canadian and French theatre for his politically engaged, moralistic theatre. It often revolves around family trauma, war, the betrayal of youth, and for recurring stylistic tropes, such as having his actors shout all their lines.[citation needed] Since April 2016, Mouawad is the director of the Théâtre national de la Colline in Paris.

The show is a detailed and artistic examination of the human condition of today's life that involves much desire, fanaticism, ignorance, murder and rape.

A creative and artistic director,Jalali, using a different form of performance that combines Brecht's style and ta'ziyeh, attempts to engage the audience's mind with the theme of the play and its characters.

Jalali said:” I have been living in Germany for many years, where I have been associated with some of the most famous artists and performers in the field of theater. Perhaps if Iranian artists had the chance to see these performances, they would have used them in their work.”

“Two important points are raised in the play: One is the lack of dialogue between people and second one is lack of education. One of the most fundamental social changes is the education of the masses. For two decades I have been trying to educate artists in different cities on my travels to Iran, but the important thing is that the culture of discourse in our society is dim and there is more monologue. Unfortunately, this is also evident among our intellectuals, while it is with the discourse that many problems and misunderstandings are eliminated.”

Jalali  is an Iranian theatre director and playwright. He has directed numerous plays, namely ‘The Last of the Ardent Lover’, ‘Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran’ (Dortmund), ‘Children’s Opera’, among others
