Behzad Sedighi appointed as the secretary of the second Akbar Radi Theater Festival

Iran Theater- Behzad Sedighi, the playwright and stage director, who was the secretary of the first Akbar Radi Theater Festival, appointed as the secreteray of second edition with the decree of Hamideh Banu Angha, the chairman of the board of directors of the Akbar Radi Art Institute, and the head of the policy council of the second Akbar Radi Theater Festival.

.  The  Second  Akbar Radi Theater Festival   will be held on  18-21 Dec, 2019.

The festival is aimed at: "Strengthening the basis of Iranian playwriting", "Profiling in the works of Master Akbar Radi" and "Rewarding or better recognizing the new talents of theater, playwriting, drama, theatrical research papers about Akbar Radi, cartoons, photography and Graphic Design". The  Playwriting  section will be competitive.

In the second edition of Akbar Radi Theater Festival, for the first time, an international seminar on Iranian and world realistic playwriting (focusing on the works of Akbar Radi, Antoine Chekhov, Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg, Arthur Miller) was attended by Iranian and world theater researchers.

The 68-year-old playwright,Akbar Radi whose works have been compared with those of Anton Chekhov and Henrik Ibsen died in a Tehran hospital on December 24, 2007.

Melody of a Rainy City, The Descent, The Fishermen, Death in Autumn, The Glorious Smile of Mr. Gil and Beneath the Saqqakhaneh Passage are among his well-known works.

The second Akbar Radi Theater Festival  will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance , Performing Arts  Center, Tehran Municipality, Tehran Islamic Council, Theater House, Iranian Artists Forum, Six Art Cultural District and Sarv Cultural Center, Radio Performing Arts Center. ).
