Pilgrims welcome “ Mourning the sun”

Iran Theater-Pejman Shahverdi is the director of  the street show"Mother's Vow", that runs from Boroujerd , Lorestan province in  Sogvareh Khorshid.

In a conversation with Iran Theater about the theme of the work, he said: "The play tells the story of a mother who cannot have a son, and in the pilgrimage of Imam Reza (AS), if she has a son every year she would bring him to the shrine for a pilgrimage to mourn his martyrdom. The woman gives birth to a son and her son is martyred during the war. The story begins with the years since his martyrdom and the boy in the dream world with his hands clasped and at the exact spot where his mother asked him to pray for the Imam's testimony.”

About the experience of performing this play in the shrine of Imam Reza, he said: "Environmental performances that can be influenced by the presence of people in such a space can in particular have a much more distinctive character. Particularly in our experience .we saw that the people were so synchronized with the performance and loved that they even postponed going to the pilgrimage for a few minutes. They are affected by the show and they shed tears, and the greeting they give at the end shows that they have accepted and believed this story. Here, I have to mention Behnam Kaveh, the actor of "Mother's Vow" as one of the leading street and country theater artists who has been influenced by the audience.”
