Iran Theater- Ardeshir Salehpoor, head of Iran UNIMA, wrote a message on World Puppetry Day.

Dr. Ardeshir Salehpour, the head of Iran's UNICEF, issued a message on the occasion of World Puppetry Day and hoped to defeat this dangerous virus as soon as possible with a national honor.

He wrote in a part of his message:

“As the same time as this global celebration, spread of corona virus encounter many dangers to the lives of people around the world and our home country and has plunged puppetry world into sorrow and worry.

The advice of the puppets, who have always been ambassadors of peace and kindness and vitality in these critical situations, is to obey precaution and stay home to preserve our homeland as soon as possible to defeat the dreadful virus.”

World Puppetry Day comes every March 21. The idea came from the puppet theater artist Javad Zolfaghari from Iran. In 2000 at the XVIII Congress of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette, in Magdeburg, he made the proposal for discussion
