“The Return” to be on Air

Iran Theater-About the Liberation of Khorramshahr, The radio show “The Return” will be on air from May 23.

Hanieh Najafi, playwright of the radio series "Return", said: "Long ago, the idea of this play was formed in my mind and after I saw the call for    plays about anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr  from the General Directorate of Radio Performing Arts Center, I decided to write it. “

She added:” My childhood was spent during the war, and the war has greatly affected my life and my spirit. That's why I feel it's better to deal with it from different angles, because the war has so many stories that many of these stories have not yet been written. “

The Liberation of Khorramshahr was the Iranian recapture of the port city of Khorramshahr from the Iraqis on 24 May 1982, during the Iran–Iraq War. The Iraqis had captured the city early in the war on 26 October 1980. The successful retaking of the city was part of Operation Beit ol-Moqaddas. It is perceived as a turning point in the war and the liberation is celebrated in Iran on its anniversary, 24 May.

Mohammad Pourhassan, the director of " The Return", said: "Since the story begins with the liberation of Khorramshahr, we started the work with the joy of the people and the singing."

Mohammad Pourhassan is from south of Iran, he continued:” In this play, I chose actors who know the Southern accent well, and of course I can say that an actor can speak Persian but have the right Southern tone.”

The story  : After the liberation of Khorramshahr, the people of this city return to their homes from different parts of the country. They have decided to rebuild their city. Somaieh is looking for the missing person, who can only be found in Khorramshahr.
