Iran Theater- Abbas Jahangirian plans to write the play "Silk Girl", which is commissioned by the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents.
Abbas Jahangirian talked about his new project "The Silk Girl".
"This play is the story of a girl who loses her mother; At a time when girls don't have children, especially a girl like the main character of this play, who also deals with superstitious issues such as misfortune and mischief. The girl is kicked out of the house by her father and brothers . But instead of grieving and being inactive in her life, she moves forward with her thoughts and creates events that make her forget her sad days.”
He added: "The story is adapted from ancient story, but it is far from the original, and it can be said that it has only looked at this ancient story, whose theatrical capacity has not been used so far."
Jahangirian considered it necessary for young people to pay attention to reading such ancient literary texts, including the works of Ferdowsi, Attar, Beyhaqi, and others.
Jahangirian said about the lack of dramatic content for children and adolescents: "In the last three decades, nothing good has happened in the field of children's and adolescents' playwriting in Iran, and most of the works were a kind of repetition. And one of the reasons may be that the talented playwrights have not been given the right motivation and creativity to express their creativity.”
