Considered a Marxistpolitical farce,Can't Pay? Won't Pay! is one of Fo's most famous plays. A comedy about consumer backlash against high prices, it was written by Fo in 1974.

Kaveh Mahdavi talked to Iran Theater about his recent works.

He said:” I am going to prepare the play for performance in Sangalaj Theater Complez. According to my negotiations with Parisa Moqtada, the director of Sangalaj Theater complex, the show will go on stage on mid July, and we will have two performances every night. The show has a comedic structure. The main theme of Fu's story is about the sudden rise in the price of milk, which provokes people. Everyone goes to the supermarket to buy milk and wants to buy at yesterday's price. When faced with opposition from the store manager; They take action. I performed this play at the City Theater Complex in 2017.”

He added:” I have adopted the play based on the comedy techniques of the Iranian play, and the  play is considered a musical work. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, changes have been made in the performance mise en scène and the number of characters in the play has been reduced.”

Dario Luigi Angelo Fo  was an Italian actor, playwright, comedian, singer, theatre director, stage designer, songwriter, painter, political campaigner for the Italian left wing and the recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature.[1] In his time he was "arguably the most widely performed contemporary playwright in world theatre". Much of his dramatic work depends on improvisation and comprises the recovery of "illegitimate" forms of theatre, such as those performed by giullari (medieval strolling players)  and, more famously, the ancient Italian style of commedia dell'arte.]
