Shirin Jaroughi to Iran Theater

Iran Theater- Shirin Jaroughi is a playwright, director and stage actress who has had an effective presence in the stage for many years and has directed successful performances such as “Veterinary Medicine”, “the latest generation”, “Yasi Graffiti Exhibition”, ….
About her recent activities ,she talked to Iran Theater.She said:” I have written a play entitled The Floor. The subject is realistic and it’s about families who are involved in caring for their mother. The important point in this show is the form. The play has 5 characters and I will try to stage the play in late autumn after the final rewrite and hiring the cast.”
She added:” I work mostly on forms of time. In the story, time is passing and the mother is gradually dying, and the spectators see three-hour time efficiency during one hour of the show, and this passage of time is felt in the dialogues.”
Regarding the cast of celebrity in her show, the director said: "I am not interested in the presence of star and celebrity actors, and like my other works, I use theater artist."

About the challenges of performing during the Coronavirus pandemic ,she said "It's a very challenging job. From an economic point of view, due to the observance of health protocols, tickets are sold for only half of the hall's capacity; Theatrical groups cannot use the full capacity of the hall.”
