Ali Shanesaz to Iran Theater:
I will Direct “The Gardener of Death”
Iran Theater-Ali Shanesaz, a young theater director who strives to be innovative and creative in his work, successfully staged The Complete Strangers based on a famous Italian film of the same name last year at the Ostad Entezami Hall.
“After the conditions are ready and serious theatrical activities begin, I intend to direct the play Gardener of Death written by Mohammad Charmshir. Early last winter, rehearsals for the show began, and the rehearsals were closed after the coronavirus outbreak.” He said about his recent work.
Regarding the reason for choosing this play, he said: “ apart from its artistic and dramatic values, the most important thing is the numbers of the characters, which are suitable for performance in these circumstances." Of course, the idea of performing this play came to my mind before the coronavirus outbreak. Mohammad Charmshir wrote this play in 2015 and it was published by Nila Publishing . the basis of the plot is about crime and its roots.”
He continued:” The story is about a serial killer named Arnold Crumbek who kills 25 women and sculpts them in his home garden in an interesting and arrogant move.”
Mohammad Charmshire wrote the play based on a Patrick McGrath’s story.
