Farimah Fardjami is the subject of my latest show

Farimah Fardjami is an Iranian film and stage actress.Her performances in the roles of wandering and wavering young or middle age women who struggle with psychological and personal problems were admired by film critics, and won awards for The Lead (film)|The Lead (1988, Masoud Kimiai), The Last Act (film)|The Last Act (1990, Varouj Karim-Masihi), and Nargess (1992, Rakhshan Bani Etemad) from International Fajr Film Festival.

 

Sahar Mohammadi  is a  stage director and acress for many years, and most of her works can be evaluated in the field of documentary  drama and autobiography. Two years ago, she staged the docu-drama Shahrzad based on the life of one of the actress and directors before the revolution.

 

About her recent activities, she said:” I am writing a play based on the life of Farimah Fardjami, a prominent and important actress of the eighties in cinema and theater, which, like my previous performance , Shahrzad, is based on docu- drama and a research element. I am currently taking notes and doing the necessary research. If conditions allow, the show will be ready to go on stage in December.”

 

Referring to the issues of women in her works, she said: "I try to address the social issues and the challenges they face in their lives."

                                                                            

She added:”Anyway, Farimah Fardjami is one of the most influential actresses in Iranian cinema in the first two decades  post- Revolution, and of course she has a tragic destiny. I will have a conversation with Varoj karim- Masihi , Masoud Kimiaei, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad to complete the research process.”
