Abbas Javanmard passed away

Iran Theater- Abbas Javanmard, a veteran theater director, writer and researcher, died of a Cardiac arrest in Toronto, Canada.

He was born in  1929 ,Tehran. He started studying acting in 1332 at the Academy of Acting and then in 1334 he passed the course of directing and acting under the supervision of Professor Davidson at the Tehran University.

In the same year, he founded the National Art Group with a group of like-minded people at the house of Shahin Sarkisian. In 1337, he organized training courses in narration and directing on the National Television of Iran, and in 1339, he established the Television Theater Organization in the form of six theater groups under the direction of Ezatollah Entezami, Ali Nasirian, Jafar Vali, Movahed Dilamghani, Rokn elDin Khosravi and himself.

Abbas Javanmard has researched in the field of theater, which includes the roots of European and Iranian theater, and has been recorded and reflected not only in Persian-language media, but also in encyclopedias, art movements and Iranology around the world.

The first tele-theater in history which broadcast on Iranian national television was  "Margaret" written by Arman Salacrou , translated by Shahin Sarkisian and directed by Abbas Javanmard.

He directed plays such as "Golden Viper" and "Perverted Nightingale" by Ali Nasirian; "The Story of the Hidden Moon", "Sunset in a Strange Gift" and "Pahlavan Akbar Dies" by Bahram Beizai; "The City of the Moonlight" and "The Tale of the Silk and the Fisherman's Spell" written by Ali Hatami .
