Welcoming the "Crossroads" playwriting competition

Iran Theater- Ayoub Aghakhani, director of the Studies and Research Office of the Center for Performing Arts at Hoze Honari, announced the remarkable welcome of writers across the country to the "Crossroads" national adaptation playwriting competition.

He said:” After the deadline for sending the works, fortunately, we met with a large number of interested people from all over the country. This  "pseudo-festival" is the first competition in the country, which is based on the adaptation of ancient literature (Shahnameh, Masnavi Manavi, Jame'at al-Aqayat, and Golestan) and aims to draw the attention of the playwriting community again to the values of ancient literature and the glorious Persian language.

He added:” More than eighty works from nineteen provinces have participated in this competition, more than one work has been received from eleven provinces. This makes us proud and hopeful for the cultural community of the country.

Note that from the first announcement of the call until the deadline for submitting works, we did not have much time."

The Jury will introduce very soon.

The call for the festival was published in the first  days of  August and the deadline for submitting works was announced by the end of the summer 2020.
