I’m writing a play about today
Iran Theater- Ayoub Aghakhani has played an effective and valuable role in our theater in various fields such as acting, teaching, management, writing and directing, and from time to time he has also played some roles in television and cinema.
The yellow days, Mr. Gill's glorious smile, the season of blood, Glenn Gary Glenn Ross, a Requiem for a heavyweight, and the eclipse are some of the important works of Ayoub Aghakhani's career
Ayoub Aghakhani is director of the Bureau of Studies and Research at Hoze Honari Performing Arts center and Founder of the training project “Four Seasons of Iran Theater” as well.
We talked to the AghaKhani about his new activities during the Coronavirus pandemic.
He talks about his activities during the Corona virus pandemic and quarantine:
»I had the opportunity to publish the play "vessel" by Amareh Publishing. Of course, After the unveiling ceremony, it will release in bookstores soon. The subject of this play, which had a successful performance in the City Theater Complex at last year, has a look at the documentary events in the history of Iran. During this time, I have been researching and writing plays about the conditions ,the period of the coronavirus outbreak, the play is called "99.19". Writing a play is now half over. Writing was very time consuming and I was busy filing and researching from March to July .«
He describes his research: I had detailed telephone conversations with doctors and medical staff. In writing this play, all my efforts were focused on the principle of staying away from the emotional, clichéd and rhetorical view of the Corona pandemic. Most of the works I have read about Coronavirus pandemic have a kind of haste structure and sentimentality. Works that are very similar to the war plays that were written during the 8 years of the Holy Defense and they have lack of analytical views. I have focused all my efforts on the important point that it is a different work and has no expiration date, and of course it can be referred to as a valid document for the next generation.
He added:” In the movie "The Last Letter" directed by Ebrahim Shafiei, I play the leading role . The film is preparing to attend the Fadjr Film Festival.
