Farhad Ghaemian:

Theater artists did not succumb to the coronavirus crisis

Iran Theater- Farhad Ghaemian, a member of the stage selection committee for the 39th Fadjr Theater Festival, said that in the conditions of Covid-19's pandemic, the theater artists did not give in to the critical situation, and the delicacy and elegance that came from an artistic point of view could make it easier to overcome the critical situation.

He said :  “The world is in crisis these days and we are all aware of this situation. We know that there are ways to overcome this crisis that must naturally be implemented. If some of the activities under these rules are supposed to continue, why doesn't this happen in theaters? If a coffee shop is going to continue to work according to the rules, why can't a hall with a capacity of 50% be active? This is one of the criticisms that can be made about the current state of theater.”

Referring to the Fadjr Theater Festival being held in these circumstances, Ghaemian continued: "The Fadjr Theater Festival is an opportunity that shows that we can work in these conditions as well. Art activists in all fields can work in these conditions, and incidentally, it is this educated group that can create an artistic and cultural perspective on the issue of health in society. How much better it is for officials to consult the people of culture and art to manage this situation. I wish there was a council that policymakers could use for advisory purposes.”
