"Uncle Hashem" is a homage to the veteran Shabihkhan

Iran Theater- Davood Fath Ali Beigi, director of the play "Uncle Hashem", which is participating in the 39th Fadjr Theater Festival, said: "Uncle Hashem" is a religious homage to the veteran Shabihkhan of past years that with all difficulties and hardships they have kept this art alive.”

Shabihkhani is a form of Tazieh. This show is in the non-competitive section of Fadjr Theater Festival.

 

 

Referring to the difficulties of artistic activity during pandemic, he said: "We tried to prepare this play with great difficulty. Although many spectators do not welcome the shows these days due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Fajr Theater Festival and the streaming  platform are an opportunity to see our work. There may be people who are interested in imitation and experience and pursue this art in the future. In addition to the appropriate feature, Shabihkhani also has desirable social features.

He added:” I was going to direct another play in Sangelaj Theater  Hall called "Bread " which we had started rehearsing until we faced the corona outbreak and because I was worried about the group, we finally decided to stop rehearsals and the director of Sangelaj Theater complex to agree with the play "Uncle Hashem".

 

The  show  presents some parts of "Hashem Fayyaz’s life , a veteran tazieh  performer and  one of the last generation of tazieh  artists  who  performed at Tekieh Dowlat( a place for Tazieh show). He  died in 2004 in Tehran. Hashem Fayyaz, who was mostly known as  performer   internationally recognized. He was a well-known figure in European Tazieh scholars and researchers.

 

Fayaz has had numerous performances in various countries and prestigious festivals around the world.
