Q & A With Kahboud Taraj
The audience missed the Theaters

Iran Theater-The show” Yamaha " is going on stage in the Qashqai Hall of the City Theater Complex
Kahboud Taraj writes and directs ” Yamaha ".
Could you explain about the production process of this show?
-Since my last experience in directing dates back to three years ago. Therefore, the director City Theater Complex gave time to our group to perform. But we had another show ready called "A Few Years" which, because it was full of characters, we stopped preparing it for performance due to the outbreak of Coronavirus disease. I immediately suggested a few more plays that Mr. Asadi- the former director of the city theater Complex- did not agree with those proposals. I finally suggested "Yamaha", which I had written for Ms. Shohreh Soltani, but she did not work on it, and we were supposed to perform it from October, we reviewed it, and it was decided to perform it in mid-October in Qashghai Hall but the halls was closed.
What is the story of the "Yamaha" show?
It narrates the story of a brother and sister. The brother sent his sister to the asylum but his sister is healthy. There is a girl character in the play who tells the story of this brother and sister in 3 time periods. This play is monologue-based and is narrated in the 3 decades of 70’s, 80’s and 2000’s.
How do you assess the audience's response to shows that were licensed to be performed physically?
Excellent, and this shows that the audience misses the theater halls more and more. At least in the case of "Yamaha" there is evidence of this. Of course, in the case of other shows, I do not know. I hope that these conditions will continue to be stable and even better so that the theater halls can be revived and the performances can flourish.
