Forough Ghajabrgli:

I’ll act in “The Bride’s Room”

Iran Theater-Forough Ghajabegli, a cinema, theater and television actress, has a lot of experiences on stage.

She recently agreed to will play a role in the tele-theater "Bride's Room" directed by Mohammad Ghanbari.

About her recent works, she explained:” I have agreed to play in the tele-theater of the bride's room, directed and produced by Mohammad Ghanbari, and the rehearsals for the play will begin soon. The play is written by Russian author Valentin Krasnagorov and has been translated into Persian by Mandana Majidi. The show has a comedic and historical atmosphere and is scheduled to be released online after recording and filming.”

She said about her role: I play the role of the bride's mother in this play. Nasim Adabi, Giti Ghasemi and Ayeh Kianpour have confirmed their presence in this tele-theater.”

Women aged between 15 and 70 are the characters of the unusual play “The Bride’s Room”. The bride, her mother, sister and girlfriends, as well as other women — relatives of the bridegroom — are gathering in the bride’s room of a palace for marriage registration, as is customary in Russia. But nobody knows where the bridegroom is. Pending his arrival, the events of this play develop.

Forough Ghajabegli spoke about the differences between acting in theater and acting in tele-theater: The important difference is the type of process and the way of rehearsing. Despite the camera in the tele-theater, the actor has chance to make a wrong performance and director can cut the shot and correct player. In the theater, the spectator sees the work from a long shot angle, and in the tele-theater, he sees scenes with the close-up and medium shot and long-shot.”
