Ayoub Agha Khan narrates “Tekiah Dowlat”

Iran Theater- The documentary "Tekieh Dowlat" directed by Alireza Ghasemkhan is being edited with a look at this cultural phenomenon of the Qajar period that had a profound impact on architecture, theater and music.

Alireza Ghasemkhan said: "The documentary   was approved based on a research project in the Documentary & Experimental Film Center, and in April , we turned the research into a text based on which a documentary film could be made. As you know, the text that is written for research is different from the text that is turned into a script. During writing process, we noticed that the information was less, but in such a way that the viewer could remember the time of watching the film.

He continued: When the text was prepared,  Ayuob Aghakhani, director, playwright and theater teacher, narrated it. Given his familiarity with Iranian theater, he was the right choice, he used several different tones in reading for the characters of this documentary.”

Qasem Khan said about the documents and images that remain from the "Tekieh Dowlat": "There are many documents, images and paintings from it. Although there is no video. Unfortunately, there is nothing left of that building and its remains. The Tekieh Dowlat is one of the most important cultural and artistic spaces that is valuable from the perspective of music, drama and Taziyeh. Due to this effect, it has remained in the memory of Tehran and its people.
