Authorities increase Tehran's COVID-19 status to red

Iran Theater-The number of coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours surpassed 1,500, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said on Friday.
Sima Sadat Lari announced at a press conference that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 3,232,000 million following the detection of 13,836 new cases since yesterday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,561 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.
Attending crowded centers, eating in restaurants and indoor halls, and traveling by public transportation that does not have proper air exchange are among the most serious causes of disease transmission.
The health Ministry announced some red cities are facing the spread of delta variant and South African variant, and if the protocols are not followed, the possibility of starting a new corona wave is serious.
The spokeswoman also said more than 23.8 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 4.44 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 183 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.96 million.
