Iran Theater Platform paved the way

In the previous edition of the Fadjr International Theater Festival, as the first step, some of the festival's shows were broadcast online on Iran Theater VOD, which was a unique event in its kind. What is your point of view as the secretary of the biggest theatrical event in the country of this movement?

 

- As a first step, it was very important, with the services provided by Iran Theater TV in the last edition of the festival, many of our shows succeeded online. To be seen online, this experience is really effective and a positive move, although it was not perfect; But it was a very good event overall, and we might not have expected so much success in the first place. However, it was important to start this movement and maybe if there was a problem, it was finally experienced during the work and action should be taken to solve it.

 

 

Did you think this would be welcomed by theater audiences across the country?

 

- What was done by Iran Theater TV to broadcast the shows and some events of festival was more than I expected and I was very happy that it happened; Something that should have happened years ago, but the pandemic accelerated it, and we inevitably experienced it. If we could have acted in earlier periods and with more favorable conditions, this is a need that has existed since previous years, and fortunately, last year we tried to pay attention to it in practice.

 

 

Definitely, in the future, both inside and outside the festival, we should take this technology  seriously, which is considered as an opportunity, although it may be unpleasant for some to see the theater outside of the hall and other than its live performance.
