David Mamet’s Oleanna to go on Stage

Iran Theater- David Mamet’s Oleanna will go on stage at Molavi Hall.

The play "Oleanna" directed by Kiarash Dastiyari will be staged at the Molavi Theater Center from October 23.

"After months of rehearsals and waiting, Oleanna  will go on stage, and this will calm us  and the Rost theater troupe," Kiarash said.

He added:”However, I believe that there is no patience and no unreasonable expectation, because the light of the theater has never been turned off and will not be.”

Oleanna is a 1992 two-character play by David Mamet, about the power struggle between a university professor and one of his female students, who accuses him of sexual harassment and, by doing so, spoils his chances of being accorded tenure. The play's title, taken from a folk song, refers to a 19th-century escapist vision of utopia. Mamet adapted his play into a 1994 film of the same name.
