City Theater Complex to Host Dario Fo’s Legend of the Tiger

Iran Theater- The performance of Dario Fo’s The Legend of the Tiger directed by Sadraldin Zahed began on Tuesday, the 12th of October, in the Chaharsoo Hall of the City Theater Complex.

Dario Luigi Angelo Fo was an Italian actor, playwright, comedian, singer, theatre director, stage designer, songwriter, painter, political campaigner for the Italian left wing and the recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature In his time he was "arguably the most widely performed contemporary playwright in world theatre".Much of his dramatic work depends on improvisation and comprises the recovery of "illegitimate" forms of theatre, such as those performed by giullari (medieval strolling players) and, more famously, the ancient Italian style of commedia dell'arte.



This one-man show, which is a work about the relationship between man and nature, deals with the relationship between a wounded Chinese soldier and a tiger, both of whom help each other in this regard.


Sadraldin Zahed is a the only player of the show as well.
