Shahrzad Hall to home William Yeats’s "Cathleen"

This play is an adaptation of the play "Countess Cathleen" written by William Butler Yeats  and translated by Sara Vazifeh-shenas. The show will be staged on Wednesday, November 10, at 8:45 PM  at the Shahrzad Theater Complex.

 

There is a famine in a village in Ireland and people have nothing to eat. In the meantime, demons enter the village and start buying people's souls for a lot of money and ....

William Butler Yeats (13 June 1865 – 28 January 1939) was an Irish poet, dramatist, prose writer and one of the foremost figures of 20th-century literature. A pillar of the Irish literary establishment, he helped to found the Abbey Theatre, and in his later years served two terms as a Senator of the Irish Free State. He was a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival along with Lady Gregory, Edward Martyn and others.
