Qader Ashna:

The theater suffered the most from pandemic

Iran Theater- The Director General of Performing Arts Center said: " Among the various cultural and artistic fields, the show suffered the most from the outbreak of the coronavirus”.

Qader Ashna stated in the press conference of the 30th Khorasan Razavi Theater Festival: The reason for the loss is that the theater, along with some other artistic groups, was placed in the third and fourth groups of the job category, and therefore theater artists could not work in orange and red situations.”

He continued: "Finally, with the efforts and the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, cinema and theater halls were changed from group three to group 2 in terms of occupations, and therefore it was possible to operate in orange conditions. However, there has always been concern among theatergoers about how the show will perform in halls due to the pandemic, and how people will react to the performances. In general, concerns about these issues caused great harm to artists.”

Ashna pointed to the preparation of a list of theater groups affected by Corona in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance: "However, this tragedy continued and efforts were made to the extent possible in the Ministry, a complete package of support  were provides, including the granting of artCard, bank facilities and financial payments to the groups that performed shows and to compensate some of their losses .”

He added: "However, these supports do not meet the needs of artists in any way and can not meet their expectations."
