Peter Shaffer’s Equus comes to stage

Iran Theater- The play "Equus" directed by Mohammad Reza Basiri will be staged in Hafez Hall from January 28th.

Equus is a play by Peter Shaffer written in 1973, telling the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious fascination with horses. Shaffer was inspired to write Equus when he heard of a crime involving a 17-year-old who blinded six horses in a small town in Suffolk.

                                            

 

Sir Peter Levin Shaffer CBE was an English playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. He wrote numerous award-winning plays, of which several were adapted into films.

 

The online pre-sale of tickets for this show will start on Saturday, December 11th.

 

Reza Shahra, Mohammad Hossein Saeedi, Aphrodite Rivandi (a guest actress from Juve troupe), Kiarash Ahmadzadeh, Elnaz Mahroyan, Lina Elyasi, Saghar Saharkhizan and Maryam Jalayer are the players.
