Kōbō Abe’s suitcase comes on stage

Iran Theater- The play "Suitcase" by Kobo Abe, directed by Ario Ragheb-kiani, will be performed at Ahoora Theater Hall.

The play Friends by Kobo Abe had previously been performed at the Ahoora  Hall.


Kōbō Abe was a Japanese writer, playwright, musician, photographer and inventor. Abe has been often compared to Franz Kafka and Alberto Moravia for his modernist sensibilities and his surreal, often nightmarish explorations of individuals in contemporary society.



The play "Suitcase" was staged in 2015 with a different adaptation by Farhad Aeesh in the main hall of  City Theater Complex.


The play "Suitcase" with an atmosphere close to magical realism tells the story of two women who try to open the locked suitcase door and find out its contents.

The  cast : Mahsa Sayari, Elnaz Shahverdi and Alireza Yelveh. The crew: Samira Rahmati (Assistant Director), Mani Amiri (Stage Designer) and Mohammad Lahak (Director of Advertising and Public Relations).
