Ophelia to restage at Shahrzad Theater Complex

Ophelia  is a character in William Shakespeare's drama Hamlet. She is a young noblewoman of Denmark, the daughter of Polonius, sister of Laertes and potential wife of Prince Hamlet, who, due to Hamlet's actions, ends up in a state of madness that ultimately leads to her drowning.

 

Influenced by Ian Cutt's view of Shakespeare, Massoud Taybi portrays his own postmodern conception of Ophelia madness in mourning Hamlet.

 

Rojin Panahi plays the role of Ophelia. The Academy of Mizansen Performing Arts is the production manager of the show, produced by Davood Zare Garizi and Somayeh Taybi.
