Amirreza Koohestani invites to Festival D’AVIGNON

Iran Theater-Amirreza Koohestani will bring ”In Transit” in the main competition section at Festival D’AVIGNON.

Amir Reza Koohestani was born in 1978 in Shiraz, Iran. He was 16 when he began to publish short stories in local newspapers. Attracted to cinema, he took courses in directing and cinematography and created two unfinished films. After a brief experience as performer, he devoted his time to write his first plays for the Mehr Theatre Group: And the Day Never Came (1999) and The Murmuring Tales (2000).

He previously attended with “Hearing” and “summer less” in  the festival.
The show “In Transit”  is based on Transit , a novel by German writer Anna Seghers that set in Vichy Marseilles after France fell to Nazi Germany.[ Written in German, it was published in English in 1944, and has also been translated into other languages.

 

It has been described as an "existential, political, literary thriller" about storytelling, boredom and exile.
Amirreza Koohestani and  Kaivan Sarreshteh adopted the book.



The festival will take place from 7 to 26 July ,2022.
