Abbas Sheikh_Babaei , a veteran artist from Hamedan died

Iran Theater- Abbas Sheikh- Babaei, a veteran director and critic from Hamedan died on Wednesday ,17th of September.

He  passed away due to  a result of complications caused by a stroke.

Abbas Sheikh -Babaei was born in 1956 in Hamedan city and started his stage career in 1970 in Hamedan and later he started working in cinema and became filmmaker.

 He directed movies such as "Sohrab to Sohrab", "Burning Firs" and "Memory" .

 

After training he started writing ,he wrote “Night” ,”Bald Pahlavan” as a playwright. He wrote “Jinn” that Reza Keshani directed it in Tabriz Theater Festival.

 

In 1975, he acted in the play " Siavash’s Blood" and he directed the show "Soltan Mar/The King Snake" and the show "Night Talk", which  they won  the top prize in the Sari National Festival.

 

After directing several movies and participating in the Fajr Film Festival, Sheikh- Babaei performed the show "Treasure" in the Fadjr Theater Festival in 1984.

 

He did the play reading performance"Antigone" in Hamedan and Tehran and was present as a critic in the 33rd Provincial Theater Festival.
