Mozhgan Vakili on Tajikistan’s cultural week
Expanding the artistic connections with neighboring countries

Iran Theater- Mozhgan Vakili emphasized that the General Directorate of Performing Arts is planning to expand communication and artistic cultural interactions with neighboring countries
Iranian and Tajik ministers of culture in a meeting held here on Tuesday called for fostering bilateral ties, particularly cultural cooperation which is to develop after a 14-year pause. Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Zohidi Nizomiddin and a number of Tajik and Iranian artists were present at the event.
On the second day, the show "Derafsh Kaviani" directed by Nazem Malek, a Tajik artist, was performed. The director of Sangelaj Theater Complex, the director of the international department of the General Directorate of Performing Arts and the artists of Tajikistan were the guests of this performance.
Mozhgan Vakili, director of the international department of the General Directorate of Performing Arts, talked to Iran Theater reporter on the sidelines of this cultural and artistic event, " Necessary planning for the cultural week of Tajikistan has been done with the coordination of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan and the cooperation of the General Directorate of Performing Arts.”
She explained about the show ”Derafsh Kaviani” which is based on the stories of Shahnameh, : “This play was supposed to be performed in the 40th Fadjr International Theater Festival. But Tajikistan introduced two other shows, and Derafsh Kaviani is now being performed in Tajikistan cultural and artistic week in Iran.”
She added:” The Tajik culture minister Zulfiya Davlatzoda is attending for her part with 55 Tajik artists. And with the conclusion of the memorandum, we are going to have more cooperation in the field of culture and art.”
She said about performing this show in other cities of Iran :”According to the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, "Derafesh Kaviani" will be performed in Shiraz and Tabriz city, and as soon as it is confirmed, the General Directorate of Performing Arts will make the necessary arrangements for the performances of Tajik artists in the halls of cities.”
