Friedrich Dürrenmatt ‘s Die Panne comes to Iran

Iran Theater- Dramaturgy and directed by Ehsan Naji’s Die Panne ( The Breakdown) will be on stage at Shahrazad Theater Complex since December 22.
Die Panne is a radio drama by Friedrich Dürrenmatt and it’s about a man who walks into a village while looking for a place to fix his car tire problem and a mysterious and unimaginable story leads his night to the morning.
Friedrich Dürrenmatt was a Swiss writer , playwright and painter .He created his own type of tragicomedy , a mixed form of tragedy and comedy, which he believes is “the only possible dramatic form today for expressing the tragic”. As Dürrenmatt says in his 1955 text Theatrical Problems , tragedy presupposes “guilt, distress, moderation, overview, responsibility” in order to achieve its goal, the purification of the individual. In the complexity of the modern world, according to Dürrenmatt, guilt is blurred and pushed aside, only the grotesque comes into play in the modern age .
