In the press conference of Fadjr regional theater festival
Take comedy seriously

Iran Theater- Erfan Pahlavani, a critic and researcher at Fadjr Regional Theater Festival (Kermanshah), in the first press conference, asked the artists to take the comedy genre more seriously and work more in the comedy shows.
The first press conference was held on the first day of Fadjr regional theater festival (Kermanshah), at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, the 28th of December, in the cinema hall of the Entezir complex in Kermanshah, with the presence of Erfan Pahlavani (researcher and critic) and also members of the theater groups participating in the festival.
At the beginning of this meeting, Erfan Pahlavani expressed his satisfaction with the re-organization of regional festivals after 7 years and said: "The organization of these festivals is a very big event and has many cultural effects. I am happy that despite all the difficulties and holding problems, the festival has started in Kermanshah. "
He further considered dialogue as one of the foundations of performing arts and continued: "Dialogue is a subject that we Iranians are sometimes weak in it. We must practice and use the art of theater and performing arts to spread the culture of dialogue in the society and among the theater community. "
Referring to some of the performances on the first day of the festival, this theater critic said: "I request the artists to take the comedy more seriously and not to forget that this is not taboo and is not an insult to values. Talking about pain with pain is art, but according to many thinkers, it is much more daring and intelligent to challenge suffering with a comedy approach, and great people have always done this at certain times of history. "
He continued: " our society is in dire need of cheerfulness and good energy nowadays, and naturally, the mission of an artist is to make people feel better, and this does not mean hiding what exists in society."
Pahlavani emphasized that the narration of the story is an important and influential part of the art of drama. It means to bring past events to the here and now. What happens, for example, in Naqqali, and Naqaal brings the old stories that we have heard many times to the present time with an attractive narrative.
This critic added: "In most Iranian dramas and plays written by Iranian playwrights, one person comes and tells a story. This is not a theatrical and dramatic work, but we have to bring the event here and now and represent and recreate it."
