Iran Theater- Kazem Nazari explained that the 41st Fadjr International Theater Festival will host veteran and well-known artists alongside the young generation, he emphasized that the audience of festival will witness diverse performances.
Iran Theater had a conversation with Kazem Nazari, director general of Performing Arts Center and head of the Fadjr Theater Festival, about this edition of the festival.
Looking at the performance table of the stage section, the contribution of theater artists outside Tehran is very clear. Do you consider this a weakness or a strength?
- Increasing the participation of theater artists from outside Tehran in the Fajr Theater Festival is the strength of the General Directorate of Performing Arts and I hope that this great move will be effective in the development of theater.
When I accepted the responsibility as the general director of performing arts, I promised to increase the share of provincial theaters both in festivals and in public performances in Tehran, which luckily I kept my promise.
The introduction of talents from all over the country requires the help and support of all executive bodies of the government, including the General Directorate of Performing Arts. We have to help city artists to shine more and this will be realized in the 41st Fadjr International Theater Festival.
Will the quality of foreign shows, as much as their quantity, satisfy the audience at the end of the festival?
- The quality of the works will definitely satisfy the artists and the audience. We tried so that this competition would have achievements for Iranian theater in terms of performance, content and technique, and the audience would also enjoy watching foreign shows.
As I mentioned before, Iranian theater does not lack anything from the international world; We have both creative directors and our knowledge in this field is up-to-date and this competition will show our capabilities.
What do you think is the main feature of this year's FITF?
- One of the important features of the 41st Fadjr International Theater Festival is the production of the works. This topic can definitely be welcomed by the audience and we are planning to perform these shows in Tehran and in the major provinces.
Holding research programs and educational workshops provides a good opportunity for those interested, especially students with the presence of international professors.
Also, for the first time in the world, we invited all the theater officials of the Islamic world countries and proposed the formation of the Islamic Countries Theater Union, which is supposed to have its headquarters in Tehran. Our effort is to deal with the problems and human issues of the Middle East in this union and to get good results from this summit.
Are you looking for communication with other countries of the world?
- We are definitely looking for it. For example, all FITF news will be sent to international theater centers that are members of the International Theater Union (ITI) and all theater cultural centers during the event. We try to promote what we have and we want to have artistic exchange with other countries.
