A waste picker played for a few minutes

Iran Theater- On the third day of the FITF, during the performance of the street show "Layla and Majnun" in the area of Rudaki Hall, an interesting thing happened and a waste picker joined the cast.

By appearing in this show with other performers, he talked about his life and sometimes made the audience cry and sometimes made them laugh. One million tomans salary was the result of his performance in the show.

On the third day of the street section of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival, at the same time as the judging of the performance of the street show "Layla and Majnun" written and directed by Behnam Kaveh from Abadan, something happened that deeply affected all the attendees and Once again, it showed the place of art and the profound effect that theater and the interaction of the stage artist with the audience can have.

During the performance Behnam Kaveh, the actor and director of the show, noticed the presence of a waste picker in the Rudaki area, and because the theme of his show was about garbage picking and poverty, suddenly Kaveh went to the man named Rasool to ask him to join him in performing.

The man was embarrassed and did not want to come to the audience and judges; but with the director's words, he felt safe and joined the crowd, and after a while the play was performed, Behnam Kaveh told Rasool that to tell us the story of your life!

Everyone saw tears in Rasool's eyes, Rasool narrated the story of his life in a few sentences and suddenly left. As Rasool moved away from the performance venue, the jury and the audience pointed to Behnam Kaveh to go after Rasool and bring him back to venue. Rasool and Behnam returned and the show went on. At the end of the performance, Behnam took off his hat and went to the audience to place a gift for Rasool in the hat.

More than one million Tomans was collected by the audience and artists of FITF for Rasool and presented to him.

One of the characteristics of street shows is interacting with the audience and playing with the audience on the street  and we witnessed in the most effective way in the performance of "Layla and Majnun" at the Fadjr International Theater Festival.

Behnam Kaveh, the director of the street show "Layla and Majnun" explained about the interaction between the theater artist and the audience and such events in street performances: I have been thinking about this show and the subject for some time. My subject is the street and the people on these streets, the people who are active in the cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.

Kaveh also said about the presence of Rasool in his show: God has been watching us... Rasool appeared in our group, we laughed with him, cried and lived moments.

He continued: The story of people like Rasool is happening in society now, and we should think about solving this problem.
