Seyed Mohammad-Reza Mortazavi: FITF is the driving force for stage artists

One of the young directors who has participated in FITF  four times is competing in the 2023 FITF with the play "The Red Hat".

The "Red Hat" will be performed on Thursday at 4:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m in Molavi Hall.

"The Red Hat is the story of the life of three women in war conditions, which depicts their daily concerns," said Seyed Mohammad- Reza Mortazavi about the theme of this show.

He emphasized that there is a certain group of people who watch the theater: "This art has its own audiences, and in general, a small percentage of people are regular audiences, therefore, the effect of performance art is more on its audience."

This director, who is from Karaj city, added: Even though a small group of people pay attention to theater and are its audience, the authorities pay less attention to this art than other arts.

The director of the show "Red Hat" believed the development of theater takes time: From the cultural and scientific aspect, theater can be strategic and it is supposed to clarify policy and thought. Therefore, for the development of theater, it should be planned from a young age.  And culturally, advertising should be institutionalized.

This young director pointed out that FITF motivates the theater artists in the provinces: Fadjr Festival is one of the most high-quality festivals in Iran and the driving force of the provincial theater so that artists from different provinces can perform publicly and be recognized.

Mortazavi also added: "FITF is a theater showcase, especially for the provinces, and the 2023 FITF performed very well technically."

The 2023 FIFF comes to a close on January 31.
