The performance of the Russian show "Shinel-palto" was canceled in the 2023 FITF

The performance of "Shinel-palto" from Russia, which was accepted in the international competition section of FITF was canceled due to technical issues.

Joseph  Reichelgauz was supposed to participate in the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival with a different performance from the show "Shinel-palto"  based on the short story The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol, a prominent Russian playwright. However, the performance was canceled because of the stage design and the need for complex technical equipment and the large amount of required decor, as well as the delay in announcing and sending the desired items for this performance to the festival headquarters and the impossibility of providing these necessary items for making the desired décor in the remaining time.

According to the schedule, the performance of "Shinel-palto"   should have been on stage on Tuesday, January 30 in the main hall of the City Theater Complex, but it was postponed to a suitable time with the agreement of the Russian troupe and the festival secretariat.

The 2023 FITF is underway in Tehran until January 31. The festival is presided over by Iranian actor and director  Kourosh Zarei.
