Fantasy narration of dreams

 

The play Stronger written by August Strindberg and directed by Javad Tolmi started performing from Wednesday, 8 February, in the Shadow Hall of the City Theater Complex.

Javad Tolmi is the director of the performing arts library and documentation center and the director of the show "Stronger", who has been active in the theater since the 90’s.

Javad Tolmi points out that this play is one of the strongest works of August Strindberg, a Swedish writer and one of the famous playwrights in the world: "I have studied the play when I was a student, and by reading the show from that time, the fantasy atmosphere and the special atmosphere of a puppet show remained in my mind, but it was not possible to perform this show until 2021."

 

He added: The "Stronger" has  a surreal space with a puppet and fantasy mood with a female theme, and explores a woman's mental and dreamy encounter with personal, family and social events that take place in the framework of a love triangle; In the meantime, identifying a strong and victorious person is not only difficult but also far from the mind.”

"In 2021, this play was accepted and performed in the Virtual Puppet Festival; But because the performance was virtual, the work was not seen as it should be."

Arzoo Saraf Rezaei is the only performer of the show "Stronger".

Tolmi explained: This show has two parts: performer, puppeteer. The actress of this show was chosen with the advice of Maryam Qolhaki, one of my friends from university. Also, with the guidance of the puppeteer of this show, expert and interested people were selected for puppetry.”
