Khandestan Festival is the only comedy theater festival in Iran

Iran Theater- Kazem Nazari, director general of performing arts center believes that the Khandestan Festival can strengthen the comedy genre in the country: the infrastructure for holding the next editions of the Khandestan Festival is ready in Isfahan.
The 5th Khandistan National Comedy Theater Festival is being held from February 25 to March 2 in Isfahan province in two sections of stage and street. Kazem Nazari’s attended this festival.
Kazem Nazari explained on the sidelines of this festival: "Khandestan Festival is the only comedy theater festival in Iran and it can strengthen the comedy genre in the country and lead theater groups to do some shows that connect with people."
He continued: "This festival helps theater troupes to produce works that have effective messages for people by making them laugh, like these shows, which were full of educational and admonishing tips along with comedy approach."
The Director General of Performing Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance added: "The infrastructure for holding the next editions of the Khandestan Festival in Isfahan is ready. In order to continue the Khandestan Festival, the General Department of Performing Arts will fully support this festival so that every year we can witness of good performance in Khandestan Festival. In fact, the specialized office of performing arts supports shows that people can communicate with and involve the people in the demands that these festivals aim at."
Nazari said that the opinion of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance is positive about the Khandestan Festival: "We are looking for the Khandestan Festival to be included in the country's calendar of art events, and the festival will be held every year with the cooperation of the municipality and especially the General Department of Performing Arts and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.”
