Theater is an effective media in the society

Mehrnaz Bakhtiari, a theater actress, started her career in 2020 at the age of 17. Acting in plays such as "Don Quixote" and "Penguin, Seagull and a few other birds" is among the shows in her career  . Now she has started her first experience in the field of directing with  stage reading  "Four Box" written by Bahram Beyzai.

"Four Boxes" will be performed in Hall 2 of Arghvan Theater Hall on Saturday, March 4 at 8:00 PM.

She pointed out that performing a work by Bahram Baizai is a big step towards achieving her goal as a director: "The play "Four Boxes" narrates a society whose people at every level and in every job realize many internal and external dangers, and to solve this danger, they will reach out to a powerful person to protect themselves. But in the end, that person dominates them, and that's why the society decide to overthrow him."

 

Bakhtiari, in response to the question that she has a decision to stage this work, added: "It is difficult to get permission from the Bahram Bayzaei. We also received the permission to perform this performance through one of his statements. But if the performance right problem is resolved and the work is well received, we will try to have a stage performance as well."

“Since the play is Iranian and written by one of the greatest Iranian playwrights, it is close to our culture. "Four Boxes" was formed from the heart of the society and the problems of the people and it is the concern of the day. This work does not belong to a specific time and place. Abuse of power is always going on in all societies and it is a universal and it does not matter if this country is first world or third world.”

 

In the end, Mehrnaz Bakhtiari said that the first condition for the development is awareness: "When everything is in place, but there is no awareness, societies will fail. Therefore, every small step to raise awareness can be helpful, even if it causes the awareness of one person, and theater can be very effective and influential as a medium of awareness."
