IRAN THEATER – “We can maintain our Iranian identity via cultural devices. In fact, we are supposed to promote our culture, and as far as I concerned, such festivals are one of its methods.” vice president of the Islamic Council of Tehran, Hassan Bayadi, said in a talk with the headquarters of the 14th International Ritual-Traditional Theater Festival.
Mentioning that Parde Khani is gradually on the wane, he said: “In the past we were witnessing diverse performances of minstrelsy and narration throughout our country and people were interested in such forms of performing art. But, unfortunately these costumes have vanished and have been limited to this festival. However, such rituals revive the sublime Iranian culture and can be the Iranian’s proud boast.”
