Kazem Nazari: Dramatic Art associations should find financial independence
Iran Theater-Kazem Nazari, director general of Dramatic Arts Center of Iran, who had traveled to Noor city to participate in the closing ceremony of the theater week of Mazandaran province, spoke about the allocation of the appropriate budget for theater in 2023 and emphasized the need for financial independence and self-governance of the Dramatic arts associations.
Mazandaran Theater Week was held from May 11 -17 with the support of the Dramatic Arts Association of the province and participation of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran.
The closing ceremony of this event was attended by Kazem Nazari (Director General of Performing Arts of the country), Iraj Rad (Iranian theater veteran), Hossein Javadi (Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran), Mohammad Taghi Rouhi (Artistic Deputy of the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran) and a large number of The artists of Mazandaran theater were held on Wednesday evening, May 18.
In a part of this ceremony, Kazem Nazari, director general of Dramatic Arts Center of Iran , thanked the Dramatic Arts Association and the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran for holding the theater week and announced the support of the General Department of Dramatic Arts Center for publication of a research book on the history of Mazandaran theater and said : "On the condition of introducing an elite research team, all research, printing and publishing costs of this book will be borne by the General Directorate of Dramatic Art Center."
He also announced the meeting of the officials of Dramatic Arts Associations in Yazd next week and added: "We put all our efforts into the independence of the dramatic arts associations in the Ministry of Guidance and we believe that we will achieve a dynamic theater in the country. These associations must become self-governing and have financial independence, and this cannot be achieved without the support of all stage artists.”
Kazem Nazari continued: "With continuous efforts of Dramatic arts Center and the assistance and attention of the Cultural Minister, a significant amount of budget was allocated for theater by the Honorable Members of Parliament, and, the budget of theater associations will increase in 2023.”
Yaser Mahmoudi -Burnati, managing director of Mazandaran Dramatic Arts Association said: The theater association should be independent in terms of issuing licenses and producing theatrical works and holding festivals, especially in financial and budget issues, like other professions, such as the engineer organization.
